A short, practical guide for parents

If your child is struggling…
you're not alone

It can feel constant.

Fear at bedtime. Meltdowns over small things. Clinginess. Worry. Overwhelm.

And as a parent, it's hard to know what to do in the moment.

What if you’re not getting it wrong…

Calming them down

You lower your voice. Try to soften the moment. Offer a cuddle, or space - whatever seems to help

But the storm keeps going.

Talking them through it

You explain gently. Name the feeling. Try to make sense of what's happening together.

But they can't hear you in that moment.

Setting Boundaries

You stay firm. Hold the limit. Try not to give in to the pushing and pleading.

But it escalates - and you're left feeling like the villain.

…and sometimes, nothing seems to land.

What if your child isn't misbehaving - but having a hard time?

And what if the answer isn't more correction - but helping their nervous system feel safe?

A story your child will actually connect with

Winston Wees on Monsters is a gentle, engaging story that helps children understand their fears and big emotions in a way that feels safe - not scary.

Through Winston's journey, kids begin to:

Recognise their "monsters"

Feel less alone in what they're experiencing

Build confidence in navigating those feelings

And as a parent, it gives you a natural, shared language to talk about what's going on.

"This isn't just a book to read - it's a tool you can use together."

Helping kids starts with helping them feel safe

When a child feels safe, everything changes.

Their body settles. Their emotions become easier to navigate. And they're more able to listen, learn, and connect.

This approach is built around:

1

Connection

before correction

2

Co-regulation

over control

3

Understanding

whats beneath behaviour

Simple ideas - but powerful when applied consistently.

about the author

Created by a parent and clinician

Hi, I'm Andrew.

I'm a chiropractor working with families and children, and a dad myself.

Every week, I see how fear, overwhelm, and big emotions show up in kids - and how often parents feel unsure of what to do next.

This project was created to bridge that gap.

To give parents simple, practical tools… and to help kids feel more understood, safe, and supported.

You don't need to figure everything out today.

Start by understanding what's really going on - and take it one step at a time.
